In March 2020, my mother was stuck in Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The borders were closed, and she was unable to get home. I was desperate to get her out, but I didn't know where to start.

I started by reaching out to the US Embassy in Moscow. They were able to provide me with some information, but they couldn't help me get my mother out of the country. I also tried contacting the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC, but they were no help either.
